When did you start Minette? And why?

I started scheming about Minette when my first daughter turned one. I knew I didn’t want to return to work in a corporate setting but was itching for an activity, hobby, and just something to stimulate creativity. I’ve always loved shopping, clothing, and helping people, so I told my husband I wanted to do this, and he looked at me like I was crazy! I told him I was serious! I built my own website, created my own emails, partnered with bloggers, and did as many pop-ups across the southeast as possible the first year. Step by step, I learned more about what I was doing, and here we are four years later! 

How do you get your inspiration when buying? Find outfit inspiration? Research trends?

Honestly, I am “always shopping”. I’m reaching out to new brands, studying line sheets, and trying to pull together pieces that are unique and that you don’t see everywhere! My inspiration for shopping… I am just gravitated toward what I love and when I see it I know. I get this feeling, and when that happens, I know it’s coming home with me to the store. 

What do you love about putting together outfits? 

The colors, the creativity, the idea, and the feeling that you’re giving someone a small amount of confidence to be their best self wherever they go! I also love matching and coordinating pieces from clothing all the way to accessories. It’s like a puzzle and when it clicks, it’s perfect.

What’s your morning routine? 

I try to wake up early before anyone else to have me time! I make my iced coffee and sit in my breakfast nook and answer emails for about an hour before my girls wake up. When they do it’s game on!

Favorite Concert You Ever Went To 

anything John Mayer. He is life and my absolute favorite artist. Second best would have to be Bruno Mars. He really knows how to put on a show! Or Britney Spears in Las Vegas. That was amazing too!

What are you binge watching right now? 

Just finished binge watching Virgin River and I’m so dead that it’s over. I’m also late to the party in watching it but dang it was the best!!!!
