What to wear:

What to do:

Visit Railroad Park! “Railroad Park is a 19 acre green space in downtown Birmingham that celebrates the industrial and artistic heritage of our great city. Situated along 1st Avenue South, between 14th and 18th Streets, the park is a joint effort between the City of Birmingham and the Railroad Park Foundation. Hailed as "Birmingham's Living Room," Railroad Park provides a historically rich venue for local recreation, family activities, concerts, and cultural events, while connecting Birmingham's downtown area with Southside and UAB's campus.”  Stop by Trader Joe’s and grab a few of your favorite charcuterie items, pick up a bottle of wine, and have a picnic in the park!

Definitely take a brewery tour, one of our favorite breweries is Back Forty! All of the beers are delicious, and the food is even better! We love afternoons at the Brewery! Schedule a tour and see how they brew their delicious beers!

If you’re here in the summer, you *have* to go to a Barons game! Even if you’re not a baseball fan, these games are just too fun to miss! 

What to eat:

Of course you have to eat while you’re here! We have a couple of recommendations for you! 

Stop by El Barrio and get a margarita and some tacos for a nice casual, yet delicious meal! 

Bottega is an Italian restaurant with a southern American twist. The restaurant has a wood burning pizza oven, and “the best aperitifs, wines, beers, cocktails, savory bites and sublime desserts are offered in a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.” We love this place, and could not recommend it enough! 

Alabama is known for their white barbeque sauce, so you have to hit Saws and have good, Alabama barbecue!
